Yet Another Car Repossessed From Sean Kingston

So far Sean Kingston has made it a repo hat trick because on Sunday night in Hollywood, he got a third car repossessed.

Kingston's white Lamborghini was parked near the intersection of Hollywood and Vine until it was lifted up on a flatbed and towed away. The Lambo was a lease and Sean hadn't made payments for 6 months.

This has happened to Kingston not once, but twice in the last few months. On March 26, Kingston had his Bentley repo'd outside a swanky Hollywood hotel while he was inside. A huge fight broke out when his boys tried to stop it but the car was towed away nonetheless. The week before that, his Mercedes Benz G-Class SUV met the same fate after he fell three months behind on the payments.

Customers of banks will be required to enroll within a fixed period after which they shall no longer be able to operate their bank accounts.

FG Sets Up Quarantine Centers In Airports To Help Stall Ebola Spread

In a bid to prevent the spread of the deadly Ebola virus, the Federal Government, in conjunction with airlines operating in the country, have agreed to set up isolation disease centres at international airports across the country. The Federal Government Friday announced its resolve to collaborate with foreign airlines flying into Nigeria on measures to prevent the spread of the virus on friday. This came about following the first suspected case of Ebola virus in Nigeria, which was made public on July 22, 2014, involving a 40-year-old man from Liberia, who later died.

 Airline personnel and senior government officials confirmed that the aviation sector has been placed on red alert to bar the entry of the virus through the international airports. The Coordinating General Manager, Aviation Parastatals, Mr. Yakubu Dati, said the Federal Government has commenced the screening of international passengers suspected to have the virus.

Cameroon's Vice Prime Minister's Wife Kidnapped By Boko Haram Insurgents

Wife of Cameroon's Vice Prime Minister, Amadou Ali, was kidnapped this morning July 27th after men of the terror group Boko Haram stormed their home in the northern town of Kolofata, according to Cameroon's information minister and government spokesman.

Mrs Ali was kidnapped with her domestic staff and one other person. The insurgents also killed 3 people in the attack on Kolofata, a town in Cameroon's Far North Region near Nigeria

THE Ramadan has ended. Its required compliance to abstain from food and water are some of the easily remembered aspects of the month-long observation, which is one of the five pillars of the Islam faith.

The blessings of the month of spiritual elevation are for those who are faithful to its tenets. For the individual, it is a month of re-awakening, a time to reflect on the understanding of the person’s life and its purpose.

Many during this period aspire to improve their spirituality. The tougher challenge is to retain it. A better relationship with the Almighty would translate to a better appreciation of life, care for others, their positions on issues, and even their belief.

Islam is a peaceful religion and would not support killings, whether before, during or after Ramadan. Attacks in different parts of the North killed more than 200 people during Ramadan. These attacks negate the peace associated with Islam, especially during Ramadan.

Individual appreciation of Ramadan, across religions, decides convictions, which determine how people act in their relation with the Almighty, and their fellow man.

The piety of Ramadan is a reminder of the peaceful relations we should have with each other in obedience to the Almighty Allah, the fountain of peace.

BREAKING NEWS: Liberian Man, Patrick Sawyer, Recorded With First Ebola Case In Nigeria Is Dead

According to reports, but Mr. Patrick Sawyer, a WASH consultant at the Ministry of Finance, who had been quarantined since arriving Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday, July 20, 2014 with symptoms of the Ebola virus, has died, .

A Liberian government official, speaking on condition of anonymity said the news of Sawyer’s death was relayed to Liberia by the Nigerian embassy, in the early hours of Friday, July 25, 2014.

The Lagos government health authorities announced on Thursday, July 24, 2014 that Sawyer was being tested for the deadly Ebola virus.

Sawyer’s death is the first recorded case of one of the world’s deadliest diseases in Nigeria, Africa’s biggest economy and most populous nation, with 170 million people.

Ebola has killed 632 people across Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone since an outbreak began in February, straining a string of weak health systems despite international help.

Actor James Garner Dead at 86

Legendary actor James Garner, star of "The Rockford Files" and "The Notebook" has been confirmed dead. 

According to Law enforcement sources we were told an ambulance was dispatched to the actor's home in Los Angeles around 8PM Saturday evening and he was dead when they arrived on scene. Cause of death at this time is yet unknown. 

Garner was one of the first actors to amass success in both television and film, and he starred in a long list of classic films as well as a co-starring role in the '94 big screen version of "Maverick" starring Mel Gibson. Garner was the original Bret Maverick from 1957-1960 ... as well as the same character in a short lived '80s remake.

Garner, who was 86 years old, also played the older version of Ryan Gosling's character in "The Notebook."

  

List Of Top Ten Richest African Musicians 2014. "Not Your Regular Forbes List"

 
In the recent past, it has become something of a sport for various organisations to come up with list of richest entertainers, using various parameters most convenient to them. More often than not, their publications are either greeted with disbelief, outrage and even scorn by readers and sometimes even the featured artist(s). There has never been a time a published list of the richest African musicians was welcomed with widespread acceptability.

Even when Channel O and Forbes came up with a top ten list of richest African musicians, presumably using factors such as endorsement value, popularity, show rates, sales, awards, YouTube views, appearance in newspapers, investment, social media presense, influence and so many other factors, many people still did not believe they got it spot on.

However, just recently an African online magazine known as Answers Africa has done its own findings, using pretty much the same parameters as Forbes and here is what they came up with. Compare it with Forbes list and see which one is nearer the mark:

1. Youssou N’dour: The legendary Senegalese singer born in 1959 tops the list. He is said to own biggest media houses in Senegal, including radio and TV stations. He has served as Senegalese cultural ambassador and culture minister . Note; not on Forbes list.  

2. P-Square: The singing duo of Peter and Paul sit in the second position according to Answers Africa on account of their various endorsements and returns on shows and tours. They are said to make over 150 thousand dollars per show. Their Ikeja crib is valued at 3M dollars. Note: Rated third on Forbes’ list.  

3. D’Banj: The Koko master who has now gone in deep into entrepreneurship is rated third richest in Africa. He charges over 100 thousand dollars per show and he is said to have a house in Atlanta, Georgia, USA worth more than 1.5M dollars. Note: Forbes rated him fourth in Africa  

4. Kofi Olomide: Real names, Antoine Christophe Mumba, born 1956 is 4th. The DR Congplese Soukous star rakes in more than 100 thousand dollars per show. Has 7 albums to his credit. Note: Not on Forbes list.  

5. Salif Keita: Malian Afro-pop singer, born 1949 is a direct descendant of Emperor Sundiata Keita, founder of Mali Empire. He is said to have private island and estates in France. Note: Not on Forbes list

6. Fally Ipupa: From Democratic Republic of Congo, Fally used to be part of Kofi Olomide’s band before branching out on his own. Immensely rich. Note: Not on Forbes list.

Recent Study finds promise toward treating HIV and hepetitis C

(AFP) – A new hepatitis C drug has shown early promise in patients whose infection with both HIV and hepatitis C has made them traditionally difficult to treat, said a study Saturday.

Patients were given Gilead Sciences’ sofosbuvir, a drug approved for the US market in 2013 that has stirred controversy due to its high price tag — about $1,000 per pill, along with another well-known drug, ribavirin.

The study in the Journal of the American Medical Association’s (JAMA) July 23/30 issue included just over 220 people who were treated for either 12 or 24 weeks.

Most of the patients — between 67 percent and 94 percent depending on the type of hepatitis C they had and whether they had ever been treated for it before — saw their liver disease disappear and stay away for 12 weeks after they stopped treatment.

The measurement scientists used was known as sustained virologic response (SVR), or what is clinically considered a “cure” of hepatitis C, a serious and often chronic liver disease.

The study ended 12-weeks after treatment ended, so responses beyond that point are unknown.

As many as seven million people worldwide are infected with both human immunodeficiency virus and hepatitis C, according to background information in the article.

Treating both infections is difficult because patients have needed to use interferon for hepatitis C, which interacts poorly with antiretroviral drugs for HIV suppression.

Seven of the 223 in this study discontinued the treatment because of adverse events, most commonly fatigue, insomnia, headache, and nausea.

Researchers noted that the study was not the most rigorous kind. Doctors knew what they were prescribing to patients, and the participants were not randomized to a comparison treatment or placebo.

However, patients “had high rates of sustained HCV virologic response 12 weeks after cessation of therapy,” said the study led by Mark Sulkowski of Johns Hopkins University.

“Further studies of this regimen in more diverse populations of coinfected patients are needed.”

An accompanying editorial by Michael Saag of the University of Alabama School of Medicine said the drug combination is a “quantum leap forward” in treatment but that its cost remains too high for widespread use.

“When combined with ribavirin, the average wholesale price of a 12-week course of treatment is $94,500 and $189,000 for a 24-week course,” he wrote.

“The world simply cannot afford to pay on a ‘cost per cure’ basis,” he added.

“Hopefully, competition among the new products coming to market in the next 18 months will result in substantially lower pricing for the drugs.”

Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Lt. Gen. Jeremiah Useni, Escapes Assassination.

Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Lt. Gen. Jeremiah Useni, on Wednesday escaped a failed attempt on his life when some unknown gunmen stormed his home, in Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

From reports, no fewer than 48 bullet holes were inflicted on the walls of his house as the gunmen tried to gain entrance into the house.

Fortunately Useni, who is a delegate to the National Conference, was not at home at the time of the attack.

While one version said the attack was carried out by some gunmen, another said that it was caused by some rival youths who engaged themselves in a duel in front of the house.

It was further gathered that the heavy armed men suspected to be assassins came into the compound between 2am and 3am surrounded the building and started shooting sporadically.

The timely arrival of security men in the area was said to have prevented the gunmen from razing the house to the ground.

One eyewitness in said that the youths on hearing the gunshots rushed to the scene but were dispersed by the Task Force commander in charge.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Abu Emmanuel, who confirmed the incident, said that nobody was killed in the attack. He also said that no arrest had been made.

A group of Northern youths, under Arewa Youth Development Foundation, has called on southerners in the North to relocate to their respective states to make room for northerner who would be returning home.

This ultimatum was contained in a statement read and jointly signed by the group’s national president, Mr Aliyu Usman and its secretary, Comrade Alfred Solomon, during a visit by the group to the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sunusi II, in his palace.

The group alleged that for the past four years, a policy of direct subjugation of the north and its people had been pursued by the Federal Government and its agencies, in collaboration with various governments in the south.

The group described the alleged crackdown on Northerners in the name of Boko Haram, the recent arrest of all Imams of Juma’at mosques in Abia State, the arrest of northern traders, the happenings at the National confab, among others issues, as regrettable.

It added that “in the event that all the resolution failed, we call on all northerners to rise and support agitations for a peaceful dissolution of this union called Nigeria, for every region to go its own way.”

21-yr-old student in Calabar commits suicide because lover jilted him.

A 21-year-old student of Maritime Academy Oron, named Effiong Otu was found dangling lifeless in hin roomare on Thursday morning. House members are still at a loss why he committed suicide, however rumours making the rounds claim he did so because his girlfriend jilted him.

A family member name withheld, claims Effiong was found hanging in his room at Diamond Hill, a few minutes after he collected a rope from neighbours who became suspicious soon after he went   inside his room with the rope wondering what he wanted to use it for.

Effiong according to the source, when his mother Grace Otu, a nurse at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital left the house at about 3pm on that fateful day, the young man borrowed a rope and killed himself.

According to this unnamed source: “The 10th of July was the 10th anniversary of his father’s death in a car accident and after the anniversary and everyone had left the house including his mother, he went to a neighbour and borrowed a rope which he took to his room and hung himself.”

“The neighbours became suspicious of what he was doing in his room with the rope and decided to rush there but found the door to the room locked and before they could force the door open he had died.”

Claiming before he hung himself, he called one of his friends, Adu on phone requesting him to tell his girl friend, Blessing who works with the UNICEM that she should now be happy that he has killed himself for her.

“Before his friend could rush to the house, the door had already been forced open by neighbours and Effiong’s body was hanging from the ceiling of the house”.

Effiong was an only son of the family and was given the late father’s name as a source of succor for the family but “he has again left us by this thoughtless action”

Perhaps to give an inkling of his planned action , Effiong had posted his face book page on the 6th of July the following message “It’s not about being engaged, married or in a relationship. It’s about being happy, safe, secured, relieved and feeling good. It’s about peaceful state of mind, it’s about sleeping at night without the fear of losing what you’ve got.

Good news for polytechnic students as reports have it that the Academic Staff union of Polytechnics, ASUP, has suspended its 10-month-old strike.

The protracted strike which started in October last year 2013 was suspended on Saturday morning at the National Executive Council, NEC, meeting of the union held in Abuja.

The National Publicity Secretary of ASUP, Clement Chirman, confirmed the suspension of the strike.

He said all striking lecturers have been directed to resume work on Tuesday.

The ASUP NEC meeting was held two days after the leadership of the union held a ‘fruitful’ meeting with the new Education Minister, Ibrahim Shekarau, who was sworn-in by President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday.

Meek Mill Reportedly Sentenced To 3-6 Months In Jail

A report from Fox News says that Meek has been sentenced to 3 to 6 months in jail, citing that the "DA was worried about [his] behavior while on probation".

It's not clear if or how he violated his probation, but according to the story, Meek will be spending time in county jail for the offense.

Complex notes that it could have had something to do with his probation holding him back from moving from his hometown of Philadelphia.

Conterfeit headphone bearing the logo surfaced or sale on a number of websites based in China, the fake headphones have reportedly raked in 135 billion dollars in revenue.

Beats is suing to stop all sales of the forgeries and to take over all of the domain names used by websites hawking the fakes. But, more importantly, they also want ALL of the profits made by the faux headsets. If successful, the lawsuit could easily win Dre and Beats-owners Apple billions of dollars.

MTN Nigeria Shuts Down Jos Offices.

MTN via its facebook page made a public announcement to the general public, and especially customers in Jos and Plateau State that their offices in Jos have been closed as at Thursday July 12, 2014. 

According to the post on facebook, the closure came about following an ex parte  court injunction taken against MTN by the Plateau State Internal Revenue Service (PSIRS ) regarding a  tax claim of N15 million allegedly owed  as development levy by MTN.

 

MTN however stated out rightly that it is not obliged to pay this amount and this position has received that affirmation of the  Joint Tax Board.

 

The Company, has since been seen vacating its premises in line with the court order, stating that its jos and pleateu offices may remain closed to the public pending the determination of the suit.

 

MTN also took the platform to apologise to its esteemed customers who might directly or indirectly be affected by this action.

Media Outfit Violates No Pic Agreement On Taking Pics Of President Obama's Daughters, Get Call From White House

Malia Obama went to a famous L.A. restaurant Monday night -- a restaurant regularly frequented by celebs and paparazzi and when the White House found out a photog took her pic, they went into DEFCON 1 to KILL the photos.

The 16-year-old went to Gjelina in Venice, CA with some friends.  The photog got the pic as Malia walked out and then sent it to the AKM-GSI agency to sell.

The agency posted the pic on its website for media outlets to purchase, but several hours later The First Lady's Office called AKM-GSI and asked them to please take the pics off the website and delete them from their files.We're told Michelle Obama's people told the agency they had promises from various media outlets not to photograph the 2 girls when they were not in the presence of their father.

AKM-GSI then agreed, sending an email to the media with the subject, "URGENT SET KILL NOTICE."The text reads, "Please delete the set of Malia Obama from your archive. The set was sent around earlier today.  We cannot distribute this set." Now here's what's interesting.

Malia has been in L.A. over the last few weeks, doing an internship on Halle Berry's TV show for part of the time.  Then she showed up at a famous restaurant; Secret Service in tow, with photogs all over the place.

So is this a case of the President and First Lady taking precautionary action, or is this a concerned famous mom and dad flexing their muscles?

Visually Impaired Man In Police Net For Defilling Minor In Lagos State

Lagos State Police are currently investigating the case of a visually impaired middle-aged man, named Kingsley Anyanwu for allegedly gaining carnal knowledge of a 12-year-old girl (names withheld).

The incident according to reports occurred at the residence of the suspect, 32, Mosalasi Street, Maza-Maza bus stop on Friday, June 20, when the said Kingsley Anyanwu sexually abused the victim by forcefully having canal knowledge of her inside his bedroom, thereby inflicting serious bruises on the victim’s private part.

It was learnt that the victim started residing with the family early January this year in a three-bedroom apartment after she was introduced to Kingsley’s sister, Maurine, a staff of one of the new generation banks located at Oba Akran.

According to reports, the victim was until the unfortunate incident a housemaid to Kingsley Anyanwu’s old mother. Trouble, however, started after Kingsley’s wife went to work. The suspect allegedly asked her to come to his bedroom, supposedly to help him read out a message on his phone.

The victim recounts: “Immediately I entered his room, he grabbed me, forcefully removed my pants and raped me.”

She continued saying she later escaped from the house when the suspect allegedly attempted to rape her the second time. Her destination being a nearby church where she stayed till the next day. 

Confused and afraid to go back home, she sat by the roadside when the landlord of the house where she was sexually abused saw her and took her back home.

After receiving the beating of her life for running out of the house, the suspect and his sister allegedly returned her to her aunt residing in Ikeja on the pretext that she was wasting  food.

Victim aunt’s account: “After I received a call from Mrs. Maurine on Saturday that they were bringing back my niece because she was wasting food and that she ran out of the house.

“On Sunday, Mrs. Maurine brought her home. When she left, I questioned my niece, it was then she opened up that Uncle Kingsley sexually abused her.

“Immediately I took her to Adeniyi Jones, Primary Healthcare Centre. After medical examination the medical officer confirmed that she was raped. The report confirmed bruises I saw in her private part. The medical officer issued a referral slip to LASUTH.”

Tragedy averted as Police uncover plot to bomb school in Gombe

KANO  (AFP) – Nigerian police on Monday uncovered a plot to bomb a secondary school in the restive northeastern city of Gombe by defusing a car laden with explosives that had been abandoned there, a spokesman said.
Police bomb experts found 12 improvised explosives concealed in a car that was abandoned on the premises of the state-run Pilot secondary school, following a tip-off, Fwaje Attajiri told AFP.

“Our ordnance experts discovered 12 IEDs (improvised explosive devices) in the trunk of the car left in the vicinity of the school after we were alerted,” he said.
“The explosives had the capacity of causing maximum damage and would have caused huge casualty had they detonated in the school with a high student population,” he said.

Attajiri said an investigation had been launched to establish who was behind the foiled attack, refusing to say if Boko Haram Islamists can be blamed.
Boko Haram, which means Western education is forbidden in local Hausa, has carried out deadly attacks on schools in the volatile northeast as part of a five-year insurgency aimed at establishing an Islamic state in the north.
Gombe, which has been previously hit by Boko Haram extremists, was forced to close its schools three weeks ahead of vacations in March following fears of possible attacks by the sect.

The Islamists have killed more than 100 students in attacks on three schools in nearby Yobe state in the past year.
Authorities in Borno state, Boko Haram’s spiritual home, have shut public secondary schools and sent over 120,000 students home since March after the upsurge in Boko Haram attacks.

In April the insurgents abducted more than 200 schoolgirls in the town of Chibok in Borno state, drawing global outrage.

Lawsuit Could See Lil Wayne's Young Money Lose Domain Name

Lil Wayne's Young Money roster could be out of a website if they don't step up on missed payments, according to a new lawsuit. 

TMZ reports that the domain name youngmoney.com originally belonged to a business that helped young entrepreneurs manage and make money. The suit claims that the company sold their website name youngmoney.com to Weezy's imprint in 2011, for $600,000. However, the deal was that if Wayne's camp didn't make the payments on time, they would forfeit the domain name and it would return to the seller.

 It appears just that is happening-- Wayne is behind on payments by $250,000, and shows no signs of forking over the money. Thus, the seller is suing in an effort to get back the site name. We'll update you as the lawsuit unfolds, so far Young Money has not commented on the situation.

Common Admits Beef With Drake Started Over Serena Williams

 It's been well over 365days since the Common/Drake beef went down, with Drake becoming the self proclaimed winner of that duel. While the beef was seemingly over Drizzy's penchant for being "soft", many thought at the time that it could also have to do with both rapper's one-time leading lady Serena Williams (although this was denied at the time of the beef). Now, after the fact, Common admits that the pro tennis player did play a part.

Common in a recent interview with Vlad TV, said: "At that time, I think it was the Drake-Serena situation," he admitted. "I didn’t know what was going on with that. And I ain’t know if he was throwing shots at me.

[Serena] my ex and we’re going our separate ways. So unfortunately the war might have been over a girl, but at the time I never said that. It wasn’t totally that. It was more of, 'Do you respect me? 'Cause I actually like you as an artist.'"

Common also added that he was glad nothing physical came out of the whole episode.

Nigerians to pay fees to watch Television in 2015 – FG

The Federal Government over the weekend through the Minister of Information, Labaran Maku said it will introduce content access fees ahead of Nigeria’s migration to digital terrestrial television broadcasting by 2015.

TheMinister of Information made the revelation at the opening of the Extra Ordinary Meeting of the National Council of Information in Abuja stating that the planned content access fee, which would be paid by Nigerians seeking access to television content, was in its final phase of adjustments which he hoped would get the nod of the Federal Executive Council before the migration, Daily Independent reports.

In other countries the public broadcast services are run from fees collected on broadcast content.

Maku explained that for anyone to have access to television content one has to pay an annual content access fee which is set to be operational.

The minister cited some of the advantages of the new broadcast content fee collection regime to include: Improved financial capability for stakeholders to improve content and upgrade infrastructure, and would help the Nigeria Broadcasting Commission and other stakeholders to have access to adequate funds for sustained upgrade of their infrastructure for effective service delivery.

Confab: Ijaw Youth Council Rejects Additional State Creation.

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) has rejected the recommendation of the National Conference for the creation of 18 additional states in the country. It said the recommendation of only one state for the Ijaws as against the two requested by them was unacceptable.

The IYC in a statement issued on Friday in Warri, Delta State, by its spokesman, Eric Omare, the youths also warned that should the conference fail to retrace its step and give the “fourth largest ethnic group in Nigeria” a fair consideration in state creation, the Ijaw nation would start reconsidering its status in Nigeria.

The IYC said only the creation of Toru-Ebe State from the present Edo and Ondo States and Oil River State from the existing Rivers and Akwa-Ibom States would appease the Ijaws.

Names and Capitals Of The Newly Proposed 18 States By National Confab

These are capitals of some of the proposed 19 new states.

For the proposed Edu State, which will be created out of the present Niger State, it will be made up of Agagie, Bida North, Edati, Agbakoba, Katcha, Lapai, Labun and Mokwa Local Governments with its capital in Bida.

Apa State will be carved out of the present Benue State and made up of Agatu, Apa, Otukpo, Oju, Obi, Obi, Ohimini, Okpokwu and Ofbadigbo Local Government Areas with capital in Otukpo.

If Kainji State is created, it will be created from the present Kebbi and Niger states and it will be made up of Danko/Wasagu, Fakai, Zuru, Shanga, Sakaba, Nhaski, Yauri, Rijau, Mariga, Magama, Kontagora, Agwara, Borgo and Mashefu Local Governments. Its capital is proposed to be in Zuru.

For the proposed Katagun State, which is recommended to be created out of Bauchi State, it will be made up of Gamasa, Dam-an, Misau, Giade, Shira, Jama’re, Itas/Gadau, Zaki with the capital in Azare.

If Savanna State is created as recommended, it will be from the present Borno State and it will be made up of Gwoza, Chibok, Askira/Uba, Biu, Hawul, Shani, Kwaya-Kusar, Bayo and Damboa Local Governments with its capital in Biu.

Amana State is expected to be created from Adamawa State from Maiha, Mubi North, Mubi South, Hong, Michika and Madagali Local Government Areas with capital in Mubi.

The conference also recommended that Gurara State be created out of Kaduna State, with Sanga, Jama’a, Jaba, Kargako, Kaura, Zango Kataf, Kachia, Kajuru, Chikun, Lere Local Governments as constituent parts. Its capital will be Kachia.

If Ghari is created from Kano State, it will be made up of the following local governments:Bagwai, Bixhi, Dawakin Tofa, Dambatta, Gwarzo, Kabo, Kunchi, Makoda, Rimin Gado, Shanono, Tofa and Tsanyawa. Its capital has not been decided.

Also, the capital of the proposed Etiti State has not been decided, but it will consist of Orumba North, Orumba South, Agwu, Animi, Oji River, Ivo, Afikpo North/South, Okigwe, Onuimo, Ehime Mbano, Umunneochi and Isiukwuato Local Government Areas.

The proposed Aba State will have its capital in Aba town, which is part of the present Abia State. It is expected to be made up of Isiala, Isiala Ngwa South, Obingwa, Aba South, Ugwunagbo, Aba North, Ukwa West, Ukwa East and Osisioma Ngwa Local Governments.

Adada State, which is expected to be created from the present Enugu State, will have its capital in Nsukka. It will consist of Igbo-Etiti, Igbo-Eze North, Igbo-Eze South, Isibor-Uzochukwu, Nsukka, Udenu and Uzo-Uwani.

Njaba/Anim State is recommended to be created from Imo and Anambra states with the capital in Orlu. Local governments expected to be under it are Orlu, Orau, Oru East, Oru West, Ohaji/Egbema, Ogut! Njaba, Isu, Nwangele, Nkwere, Ideato Nirth, Ideato South and Ihiala.

The New Oyo State has no capital yet, but local governments that are expected to be part of it from the present Oyo State are Irepo, Olorunsogo, Oorelope, Saki East, Saki West, Atisbo, Itesiwaju, Iwajowa, Kajola, Iseyin, Afijio, Oyo East, Atiba, Ogoja Oluwa, Surulere, Ogbomosho North, Ogbomosho South and Orire.

The proposed Ijebu State from the present Ogun State will have its capital in Ijebu-Ode, and made up of such Local Government Areas like Ijebu-Ode, Ijebu-North East, Ogun Waterside, Odogbolu, Ijebu East, Shagamu, Ikenne and Remo North.

Ogoja State, which is expected to be carved out of the present Cross River State, will have its capital in Ogoja. It will be made up of Bekwarra, Bokki, Etung, Ikom, Obanliku, Obubra, Obudu, Ogoja and Yala Local Government Areas.

The expected Anioma State to be created from Delta State will also have its capital in Asaba, if the proposal scales through. Local Government areas expected to be under it are Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Ika North-East, Ika South, Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West, Oshimili North, Oshimili South and Ukwaani.

        

Joan Rivers Calls 1st Lady Michelle Obama Transgender

Joan Rivers known for her lack of self-censoring recently officiated a same-sex wedding and was asked by a photographer if she believed the United States would ever see the first gay or female president. Her response was typical yet shocking.

Quoting Rivers "We already have it with Obama, so let's just calm down," she said. "You know Michelle (Obama) is a trans."

When asked to further explain Rivers said, "A transgender. We all know it."

A PR person for Rivers camp however released a statement claiming it was all comic.

Rivers is no stranger to controversy. In March 2013 she refused to apologize for a joke she made about the dress host of "Project Runway" Heidi Klum wore to the Academy Awards.

Her remarks that time: "The last time a German looked this hot was when they were pushing Jews into the ovens," Rivers said while appearing on the E! channel's "Fashion Police" show.

"It's a joke, No. 1. No. 2 it is about the Holocaust," she told HLN's "Showbiz Tonight. "This is the way I remind people about the Holocaust. I do it through humor."

     

Half of A Yellow Sun, Nigeria censors board finally approves for viewing

Good News 9ja Movie goers, as reports confirm that the Nigerian Film and Video Censors Board, NFVCB, on Friday finally accepted the wide release of one of the most acclaimed movie from Africa, Half of a Yellow Sun.

The movie, Half of a Yellow Sun was earlier delayed by NFVCB, following the board citing several reasons; including the current security situation in the country while stating that the movie, which is a narrative of the Nigerian civil war, could incite violence.

The movie adaptation from novel with same title was written by Chimamanda Adichie, and was classified 18 and above by the censor’s board. The classification was announced Friday evening. 

Prior to this time, the movie had already premiered in different parts of the world including being enlisted for online viewing in the United States of America.

The approval of the movie is coming after an African online television service, PanaTV had signed an exclusive deal with Soda Pictures, acquiring the rights to subscription VOD.

Army Recruitment Exam: 20,000 Applicants Defy Downpour In Calabar

OVER 20,000 applicants who put in for the Nigerian Army recruitment drive at the 13 Amphibious Brigade, defied the downpour in Calabar yesterday to make true their dreams to be recruited into the army. The number comprised of young men and women, the crowd sat quietly as rain drops pelted their bodies and soaked them right down to their under garments while horse whip(Koboko) bearing soldiers stood guard. The shortlisted applicants underwent series of rigorous screening exercise before being allowed entry into the field at the Brigade headquarters at Akim where they wrote the examination as  no hall was big enough to accommodate them. According to a source who took part in the recruitment, they were made to first stand in a long queue which stretched two kilometres beginning from the gate of the Brigade through Mary Slessor Avenue to Calabar Road . Captain Ibrahim Yussuf, the Army Brigade Public Relations Officer, was not present at the examination venue and several calls to his mobile phone were not answered. The approach to this year's recruitment was to safeguard against any breach in security during the exercise.

Kanye West Gets Booed While Performing At Wireless Festival

Kanye West made his way overseas Friday night and closed out the first day of the Wireless Festival in London.

As usual, Kanye ripped the stage with performances of “Mercy”, “All Of The Lights”, “Touch The Sky”, “Blood On The Leaves”, & others, but not before taking a 20-minute break in the middle of his set to get a few things off his chest. However the crowd wasn’t feeling it this time around and not only booed Yeezy, but some just straight up left.

According to The Mirror, Kanye spent more time "preaching" than actually performing songs from his catalog during his set, which ultimately led to many fans booing him and leaving the show early. Like we've heard in the past, Kanye vents about the fashion industry not accepting him. "I'm not going to mention any names but... Nike, Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Don't discriminate against me 'cos I'm a black man making music."

A festival goer told the The Daily Mail, "Kanye was laying into the 'machine' and ranting about the public's perception of him. Hundreds of people left the park early because they were so bored of his long rant." This really shouldn't come as a shock to many, but for a couple hundred it did, and they weren’t having it. Many other fans took their frustrations to twitter & vine and vented about Kanye’s set.

Beginning with a story about seeing the Cash Money family at the recent BET Awards, Simmons goes on to praise Drake's "Started From The Bottom" and Nicki Minaj's heartfelt award acceptance speech.

According to her, the hiatus was deliberate and necessary. Mr Garba Lawal blaims poor World Cup outing on Keshi’s poor tactics

Former Super Eagles star Garba Lawal has told AfricanFootball.com Nigeria lost to France in the Brazil 2014 round of 16 on account of coach Stephen Keshi’s poor tactics.

Lawal, who featured at the 1998 and 2002 World Cups, said the injury to Ogenyi Onazi exposed the team and that poor substitution was made in his place.
He also blamed the team’s lack of character for the 2-0 loss to France.

“I can say Eagles lost to France because coach Stephen Keshi lacked tactical knowledge. When an important player is injured, there must be a very good option in same frame with the player to come on, but that was not to be in the game,” said Garba, who is on the technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

“We all saw the French substitution, (Olivier) Giroud was replaced by Antoine Greizemann, who made the attack stronger and scored a goal.
“Eagles also lacked character. The French allowed us to play in the first half and we couldn’t punish them with goals, we started well but didn’t have the attitude to carry on the same way.”

Beyonce' Switch Lyrics Of 2006 Song "Resentment" On Stage Confirming Rumours Of Infidelity With JayZ

Beyonce was reported to having changed up her lyrics of the song titled"Resentment" during an "On The Run" tour stop, making references to Jay Z's infidelities.

Since Solange's infamous elevator attack on Beyonce's husband Jay Z, plenty of rumours began circulating that there were marriage troubles for the powerful hip-hop couple. Although the family released an official statement after the incident in hopes of clearing the air, the rumours are still circulating and Beyonce has now added fuel to the fire with a recent performance of her 2006 track "Resentment."

Beyonce' changed up the lyrics in the track during a live "On The Run" performance, allegedly addressing Jay Z's infidelities. The song originally appeared on her B'Day album, and referenced a six-year relationship, however, in her new performance she changed it to represent her present-day relationship with JayZ (the original lyrics however were referencing another relationship).

Quoting the new lyrics, Bey Sang "I know she was attractive, but I was here first,... "Been riding with you for 12 years / Why did I deserve to be treated this way by you?"

Girl's Miraculous Healing Credited To Bruno Mars

Medical personnel at a hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, are crediting the "Just the Way You Are" singer with helping the recovery of 11-year-old Zumyah Thorpe.

According to reports, Thorpe was severely injured in a March 2013 car accident that killed her pregnant mother and two sisters. Thorpe suffered horrific brain swelling that required the removal of part of her skull. While she recovered, nurses played songs by Mars every day.

"I asked her who her favorite singer was and she said 'Bruno Mars' as quick as anyone would say any singer," Nancy Bass, a pediatric neurologist at UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. "And she just started singing every single word. It definitely brought a tear to my eye."

"I am absolutely convinced that singing those Bruno Mars songs and being able to say 'Bruno Mars' is in itself a miracle, and knowing all the words to the songs has helped her recover," Bass said.

Mr Mars himself was touched by the girl's fairytale recovery and his supposed role. When he played in Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena Saturday night, he invited Thorpe to visit him and gave her a number of gifts, including his hat, a guitar and a tour jacket.

Mars also called attention to Thorpe's story on his social media accounts Twitter.

"Zumyah tonight you gave my band and I something we've never felt before. you're an inspiration to the world! #WeLoveYouZumyah," he posted.

Thorpe repaid the compliment.
"He means a lot to me, he put a lot of hope into my heart," she said. "If I want to be a dancer when I get older, I can. I can do whatever I want to accomplish, I can."

Former French President Sarkozy detained for questioning in graft probe

Nicolas Sarkozy was on Tuesday detained for questioning in a widening corruption probe, a judicial source told AFP, in an unprecedented move against a former French president.

Anti-corruption investigators can hold Sarkozy for questioning for up to 24 hours, with a possible extension of another day.

Sarkozy had turned himself in for questioning a day after investigators detained his lawyer Thierry Herzog and two magistrates.

The investigators are seeking to establish if the former president, with the help of Herzog, attempted to pervert the course of justice.

They suspect Sarkozy, 59, sought to obtain inside information from one of the magistrates about the progress of another probe and that he was tipped off that his mobile phone had been tapped by judges looking into the alleged financing of his 2007 election campaign by former Libyan dictator Moamer Kadhafi.

The case could be devastating for Sarkozy's hopes of a political comeback in time for the next presidential campaign in 2017.
